Position Summary

The Morgridge College of Education is looking to hire adjunct instructors for the 2024-2025 academic year to teach a variety of graduate courses in the Educational Leadership and Policy Studies program. Courses may vary. More information about the courses can be found on the Registrar’s Office schedule of classes at https://www.du.edu/registrar/course/scheduleofclasses.html. This posting will serve for multiple openings throughout the 2024-2025 academic year.

Essential Functions

  • Teach in person in a workshop format on Saturdays or online once a week (depending on course);
  • Support the teaching or courses in the Certificate, Master’s, or doctoral degree program;
  • Collaborate with ELPS faculty to prepare course content;
  • Maintain course Canvas container;
  • Meet with students as needed;
  • Assign papers, exams and other deliverables as appropriate;
  • Grade in a timely manner;
  • Participate in recruiting and informational events as needed.
  • Coordinate student internship experience and meet with internship mentor and student once per quarter;
  • Attend doctoral working groups as requested.

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree or PhD/EdD depending on course level;
  • Previous school leadership experience;
  • Previous teaching experience;

 Preferred Qualifications

  • PhD or EdD
  • Successful teaching/facilitation experience with adults in graduate education programs.
  • Confidence in using online teaching platforms.

Work Schedule

While the University’s administrative offices are open Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm, faculty schedules vary from term to term and are based on courses taught, service commitments, and research agendas. Course Rate

The course rate for this position is $1,193 per credit hour taught.

The University of Denver has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The University may ultimately pay more or less than the posted compensation range. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, available market information, and course enrollment but not based on a candidate’s sex or any other protected status.
